Schutz Wants to be Trump’s Enforcer in Minnesota

The Attorney General’s job is to fight for Minnesotans, but Schutz would use the office to enforce Trump’s agenda.

  • Schutz said he doesn’t think Trump would do anything illegal, even after Trump’s regime shot two Minnesotans dead, tried to illegally cut billions from our state, and has engaged in the most corrupt behavior imaginable.

Schutz Would Not Defend Minnesota from Trump’s Cruelty

Trump has illegally tried to cut billions of funding from Minnesota — money we pay in federal taxes — from Minnesota's public schools, health care, child care, roads and bridges, law enforcement, disaster preparedness, food stamps, and more.

  • Schutz wouldn’t protect Minnesota from Trump’s illegal attacks. He called Attorney General Ellison’s lawsuits against the Trump administration “petty political nonsense” and “political theater,” even though those lawsuits protected over $7.3 billion in funding for Minnesota.

  • Minnesota already pays more in federal taxes than we get back from the federal government. Trump wanted to keep more of our tax dollars in DC, instead of sending them back to Minnesota to create jobs, improve our lives, and help our neighbors in need. AG Ellison is standing up to those cruel attacks. Trump wouldn’t.

Schutz Would Not Defend Minnesota from Another ICE Surge

Trump’s ICE agents left two Minnesotans dead, assaulted and illegally arrested countless more of our neighbors, and caused serious harm across our state. AG Ellison sued Trump to end Metro Surge and defend Minnesota from ICE’s brutality.

  • Ron Schutz said AG Ellison’s lawsuit trying to end Operation Metro Surge was just “wasting taxpayer money.” Schutz clearly wouldn’t stand up to another ICE surge.

Schutz Won’t Help You
Afford Your Life

The Minnesota Attorney General’s job is to stop corporations from breaking the law and ripping you off. AG Ellison has sued price-gouging drug companies, broke up an illegal price-fixing conspiracy driving up your grocery costs, and more.

Schutz does not think it’s the Attorney General’s job to make life affordable.

  • Schutz said it’s “preposterous” to expect an attorney general to help make life affordable. Listen to him yourself:

Schutz Won’t Fight Fraud

Schutz Would Play Politics with Fraud Instead of Fighting It

AG Ellison has convicted over 350 people for Medicaid fraud, and even worked across two years to pass major, bipartisan, fraud-fighting legislation.

  • Schutz fought to block AG Ellison’s bipartisan, fraud-fighting bill. AG Ellison’s bill put more cops on the beat to fight fraud, increased criminal penalties for fraudsters, helped Minnesota recover more money from fraudsters, and more.

  • Schutz played politics with fraud by urging Republican lawmakers to oppose the bill. Fortunately, Schutz was too extreme even for Republican lawmakers. They ignored him and overwhelmingly voted for AG Ellison’s fraud-fighting bill. AG Ellison’s anti-fraud bill was signed into law over the summer, no thanks to Schutz.

The Minnesota Attorney General is supposed to be the People’s Lawyer. Schutz would use the office to help Trump and line his own pockets, instead of fighting for Minnesotans.

Minnesotans need a watchdog in the Attorney General’s Office, not Trump’s lapdog.
